Bollywood movies return on January 25th with the first in a series that will be presented at Compact Cinema in 2015 by Vickie’s Bollywood Broadcast!
In recognition of India’s Republic Day holiday, “Rang De Basanti” is a patriotic film that set new box office records in the face of stiff government opposition. Arriving in India, a British filmmaker enlists a gang of college students to participate in a documentary about India’s freedom fighters. Initially, these students scoff at the ideals and people of the past, but a sequence of events set in slow motion a merging of the past and present.
