This Wednesday at noon, join us for weekly TED Talks at 16 West!
An architect of the “Boston miracle,” Rev. Jeffrey Brown started out as a bewildered young pastor watching his Boston neighborhood fall apart around him, as drugs and gang violence took hold of the kids on the streets. The first step to recovery: Listen to those kids, don’t just preach to them, and help them reduce violence in their own neighborhoods. It’s a powerful talk about listening to make change.
Bonus talk: A Baltimore-based organization committed to nurturing wellness in underserved communities through yoga and mindfulness practices.
TEDTalks Roanoke – Wednesdays at noon. Hosted by 16 West/John Garland, moderated by Gloria Elliott (In Balance Tai Chi), and engineered by Ben Bristoll (was Compact Cinema). Only at TEDTalks Roanoke can you join with inquiring others and -if you like- lunch as you watch. For more information: Gloria at email – tedtalksroanoke (at) hotmail (dot) com
